Also this weekend, I went to Venice with my neighbor. One of my favorite parts about traveling is going with new people to places every weekend. It’s amazing to travel with different people because you have the chance to experience something new with someone new every weekend!
Here are some highlights of our trip:
First stepped out of the train station, right into beautiful Venice and tons of waterways!
The beautiful buildings
A rooftop garden on top of a grocery store! Incredibly beautiful!
The sidewalk just turned into water… Only in Venice!
Venice fish markets!
San Marco Square!
So many masks!
We also visited the Museo Fortuny which is the Museum built by Mariano Fortuny, a costume designer I learned about in my History of 20th Century Fashion class that developed the Delphos gown which is a finely pleated silk gown that is held together with drawstrings and glass beads. This dress is a special exhibit at the museum of oriental dresses. Unfortunately I couldn’t get a picture of the Delphos gown they had on display.
Love the intense colors of this picture!
I had to end with a typical picture of Venice: gondola with gondolier and accordion player.
